Hotels and accommodation in the area of Playa Norte 1
This is the most popular place to stay in Isla Mujeres. The reason is access to Playa Norte beach. There are not a lot of hotels in this area for the size and the fact that it is close by or on the beach does not mean that it is a new hotel option with everything you could want. These are some of the hotels in this area and what is our opinion about them.
Mia Reef Isla Mujeres is truly one of the only all-inclusive hotels in Isla Mujeres. The hotel has great views of the ocean. It’s a bit older and doesn’t have as good value as some hotels on the mainland, but it virtually guarantees seaweed-free beaches.
Ixchel Beach Hotel is a popular choice as it combines good views of the beach and value-added services.
The Lotus Beach Hotel is the most fashionable hotel in this section. You can enjoy a newer and better service at this hotel. This is a good hotel for a couple looking for a special and romantic holiday.
This hotel is located in front of Playa Norte and many rooms have views. This is the Ichchel Beach Hotel.
Places to stay in zone 2
This is the second most popular area just because it is close to everything. It is part of the city and is close to the beaches. In this area you can find many smaller hotels that may have 20 or fewer rooms available. The advantages of staying in this area are the ability to walk to most places you want to visit and access the services. The overall value of the places in this area is correct, but you pay more for the location than for a “new” or “trendy” hotel. This area is ideal for staying if you have a budget and will stay in Isla Mujeres for a short time.
Hotel Kinich is a small hotel located in the town of Isa Mujeres. It is a clean and decent place to stay. As a bonus, there is a good deal of street car rental on the street.
Imperla Hotel is another small hotel in the city that receives pretty good reviews from readers.
Suites Los Arcos will give you a little more space in your room. Rooms have a microwave and small refrigerator. This hotel is also on the pedestrian street, so you are close to the action here.
Stay in zone 3
Zone three offers more cliff views as the east side of the island has the strongest ocean strength. In this section you will find houses with ocean views. Some of these houses are located in the city and others, along a coastal road. This area is good if you want to stay longer in a house and spend some time on the island.
Casa Alkimia Oceanfront is a house but it offers rooms for rent, which will give you a good idea of the type of accommodation available in this area.
Villa Isla Dorado is a large house that you can rent in this area. This is a two bedroom house with a nice pool
Place to stay in zone 4
This is an area where many of the residents who work on Isla Mujeres live. It is more like a regular city atmosphere with small houses and apartments. The only reason someone can stay in this area is if you want to stay a couple of weeks or more and need an affordable place. For most people, they wouldn’t find this good.
Which area 5 offers accommodation
This area is growing in popularity due to the new hotels offering more elegant stays. It is still out of town and far from North Beach, but there are still some beaches in front of some hotels. This can be a middle ground between getting a great hotel for its value for money. Ideally, it would be better for more than one or two nights, as you want to relax in the hotel and not have to move much.
Zoetry Villa Rolandi is a hotel where you can hide for a while. You may not leave this hotel and the small beach area in front.
Hotel Belo is a newer hotel that certainly offers a pleasant stay. This is a very good example of a more modern hotel that offers more value than downtown hotels or even in Playa Norte.
Casa Coco is a smaller hotel that can offer a quieter stay for a couple.
How is area 6 in Isla Mujeres
This southern tip of Isla Mujeres offers good views on the west side and towards the south end. Some of the nicest houses are in this area. This area can be good if you want to rent a house for more than three days. You’ll have to work with transportation, but you can make it a nice base for exploring the island.
Casa Santosha is a villa with three bedrooms and four bathrooms. This is a good example of a luxury home in the far south of Isla Mujeres.
Hotel La Joya Isla Mujeres is not a home, but it is good to mention this secret hiding place. This smaller hotel certainly enjoys the views.
