Moments of confusion have arisen today in Terminal 3 at Cancun International Airport when a noise scared users causing a human stampede.
Through your Twitter accountthe head of the Quintana Roo State Police reported that loud noise was caused by the impact of one or more 50kg totem-style signs hitting the ground after being accidentally pushed by a tourist.
On social media, users posted pictures of what happened. In some videos you can see how tourists, without information about what was really going on, flee in search of a shelter with the idea that the noise had been caused by guns.
Security elements such as the Municipal and State Police, the National Guard and the Army patrolled the terminal in search of the source of the noise. Damage to the baggage machine was also reported, which could have added confusion.
Given the lack of shell casings and images demonstrating the version of the weapons, authorities concluded that this was a false alarm and resumed operations at the terminal.
ASUR, the organization responsible for managing Cancun Airport, officially announced confirming the signed version.
