The 2nd of November is known as the Day of the Faithful Departed. The night before, people pray and spend time together in a pantheon until the following morning, when the celebration will end by tasting the dishes placed in the ofrenda.

The Legend of Nahuala

Ricardo Arnaiz directed this film in 2007, picking up the Ariel Award for Best Animated Feature, as well as debuting in first place at the box office.

Macario

Films directed by Roberto Gavaldón and the original Mexican film with his Oscar name in 1960 in a Major Película de habla no inglesa and at the Cannes Festival, nominated for Palma d’Or as Major Película.

The Aztec Mummy

Rafael Portillo was in charge of directing this film in 1957.

To do empieza with a hypnosis experiment that Dr. Almada performs, where he discovers that his girlfriend Flor is the reincarnation of an Aztec maiden who was sacrificed for love and her body has been hidden in a secret room in the Yucatan pyramid next to the mummy of her lover. Once Flor regains her memory guides her father to the remains of the maiden due to the wealth it hid, but she never imagined that the mummy would wake up and terrify everyone.
