A Mexican tradition that makes us enjoy life more and remember our dead with joy. <\/h2>\nThis is how we celebrate Dia de Muertos in Playa del Carmen, Mexico <\/h3>\n
If there is something that characterizes us Mexicans, it is that we love parties, food and culture; electrical Day of the Dead <\/strong>is not the exception. For us, everything is a good excuse to get together to celebrate with family and friends with a good plate of food, happy music to sing and dance, decorate the house and why not, some drinks to toast the past and what comes . <\/p>\n For those who don’t know what the Dia de Muertos celebration is about, you could say it’s just that, a family gathering, but with the dead: the way to receive them is with an altar of the dead (also known as offering) in which we share what our loved one most enjoyed in life. <\/p>\n This Mexican tradition has been adapted depending on the area of \u200b\u200bthe country, in each place you can find a different version of Dia de Muertos, which makes it even richer and full of folklore. <\/p>\n Speaking of Playa del Carmen, which is located in the Riviera Maya, very close to Cancun, we know that in addition to being a tourist destination, it is also a very young city that is made up of a local community that has come to live here from all sides. of Mexico and the world. <\/p>\n Here, added to what each person does at home, our most popular way to celebrate Dia de Muertos is at the Festival of Traditions of Life and Death in Xcaret, an event that has already had more than 15 editions and is held in on October 30 and 31 and November 1 and 2. <\/p>\n You get a taste of what’s going on at this festival every year. <\/p>\n One of the best things about this event is seeing hundreds of people arrive dressed as catrinas, whether it’s a head-to-toe outfit or just the make-up. There are also several stands inside the park for those who decide to put on make-up on the spur of the moment and enjoy this event in the form of a cabana. <\/p>\n Some of the Catrinas that will visit us in 2022: <\/p>\n Setting up an altar of the dead can be a lot of fun if you do it with creativity and love. Every year we dedicate a space to our deceased to come eat and enjoy with us at the Festival of Life and Death. <\/p>\n You can see everyone we saw in 2022 here: <\/p>\n We want everyone to have a good time at this festival, both the living and the dead, and for them to find us, we fill the whole park with candle lights and cempas\u00fachil flowers. It’s wonderful to see how the Xcaret park is transformed during these days with these traditional decorations. <\/p>\n One of the favorite activities of the festival’s most creative visitors is to make crafts using different techniques such as clay, painting, ceramics, weaving with wool, Huichol art and more. <\/p>\n In addition to enjoying all these Day of the Dead activities, at the Xcaret Siempre Festival of Life and Death we can learn something new, since every year there is a different guest state. There are several reasons for this, one being that the community of Cancun and Playa del Carmen can always find a variety of attractions year after year. <\/p>\n Likewise, it is also a great opportunity for these guest states to share their culture, traditions and gastronomy with visitors from all over the world who visit Xcaret. <\/p>\n And before they start saying that it doesn’t exist, Xcaret already made it very clear to us that Tlaxcala does exist<\/strong> and also that it is a place we all want to visit soon. <\/p>\n music<\/strong> <\/p>\n For 4 days, Xcaret was infected by the joy and musical rhythm of the layer of huehues <\/strong>of the Tlaxcalteca mitotl, with the remembrance of Mexican music for the soul with the Saleterios Atltzayanca<\/strong> that made us dream of falling in love again with Mexico and much more.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n Herbalism and traditional medicine<\/strong><\/p>\n Something I had never seen before in Xcaret was the representation of the fine arts of the prehispanic herbal<\/strong>. In addition to selling natural products, we can also talk to herbalists and therapists who give interactive massage sessions, otic candles and much more. <\/p>\n Gastronomic display <\/strong> <\/p>\n The food, as always, was one of the stars of the event. The gastronomic display of Tlaxcala left nothing to be desired, on the contrary, it far exceeded the expectations of our visitors who are experts in Mexican food. We were able to try typical dishes such as bean tlacoyos, ramen mixiote, pipi\u00e1n tacos, basket tacos, savory polkas, blue corn desserts, mole tacos and much, much more. <\/p>\n Huamantla wallpaper<\/strong> <\/p>\n Something that definitely impressed us all were the Huamantla tapestries. This is not only the case for Xcaret, but also for Hotel Xcaret Arte, Hotel Xcaret Mexico and La Casa de la Playa. You can lot and empty everything here: <\/p>\n As every year, something that cannot be missing in the Xcaret Festival of Life and Death, is the representation of the Mayan communities and the Hanal Pixan<\/strong> Regardless of which is the guest state of the year, in Xcaret we will always find a selection of gastronomy, handicrafts, theater, live music and activities that are from the Mayan region. <\/p>\n As for the food, in the gastronomic sample of the Mayan communities of Quintana Roo<\/strong> the traditional is always prepared PIB or Mucbipollo<\/strong>, the special food of Hanal Pix\u00e1n.
