The best time to visit Cancun
The best time to visit Cancun is between November and March, when the rainy season has passed and hurricane season has yet to begin. March is perhaps the most ideal time to visit Cancun; it is the driest month and humidity is low, which will make temperatures of 34 °C (93.2 °F) slightly more comfortable.
The wet season in Cancun starts in June, with hurricanes and tropical storms most likely from September to October, although they can start as early as June. Even if you visit Cancun during the wet season, it’s unlikely to rain for extended periods unless there’s a tropical storm.
The rainy season in Mexico runs from from the end of August to November. Although, in May and June, there can be heavy rain. However, it is rare for it to rain for a whole day, as most showers only last for a few hours. We must mention that the risk of hurricanes or tropical storms between June and November is much higher. So keep in mind that if you travel during this time of the year, there will certainly be less tourists but also possibly, a lot of rain.
If you’re worried about hurricane season in Cancun, keep in mind that June and late November are likely to have this phenomenon. Hurricanes aren’t common, but they are possible. Hurricanes are most likely to occur during September, October and November. During this time, hurricanes become more frequent because the sea temperatures are the warmest. Although the risk of hurricanes directly affecting a specific location is small, it pays to be vigilant and keep an eye on the weather forecast during your stay.

The sunniest months
Many call it the season you want to avoid. Since the sun is surprisingly hot in late spring and early summer. April to June were the sunniest months of the year. Especially in May, it reaches 37 °C (98.6 °F) which is an obstacle for many while doing their outdoor activities.
However, the sea temperature varies very little throughout the year. If you plan to go to Chichén Itzá or other archaeological sites, we recommend going during March or hurricane season. Avoid crowds and get sunburned.
For those traveling during the hottest season, use sunscreen. Apply sun protection to your skin continuously throughout the day. Bring a hat and sunglasses, they always come in handy.
